The Return2hk Scheme has been launched by the SAR Government in November; however, HKFTU Mainland Consultation Services Centre for assistance because they did not own smartphones. Furthermore, HKFTU has successfully strived for Hong Kong citizens, enabling them to apply or renew their Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents in mainland China, thus saving their trips to Hong Kong.
In addition, HKFTU has succeeded in negotiating with the government, allowing Hong Kong citizens staying in Guangdong province with chronic diseases to be able to go to HKU Shenzhen Hospital for follow-up treatment, with the cost borne by the government. This solves the problem that many Hong Kong residents living in the mainland may have difficulties travelling back to HK for follow-up treatment, as well as freeing the elderly from travelling long journeys.
