HKFTU has been working hard for the rights and welfare of workers for more than 70 years. Even during such a pandemic, HKFTU has not forgotten its principle of "patriotism, unity, rights, benefits, and participation". Given this, in the Honours List announced by the SAR Government, Chan Yuen-han was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star, Wong Kwok, Lam Mam Fai and Tang Ka Piu were awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star, and many members have also received the Medal of Honour and Community Service Award.

In addition, HKFTU has extended its principle to GBA. For instance, the Macau FTU organized the "Bay Area Union Member Welfare Sharing Program" in January to aid Hong Kong and Macau citizens to integrate into GBA, thus echoing with the national-level innovation-driven development policies.
