After the epidemic, the demand for masks has dramatically increased. With the idea of "making our own masks", FTU Employment Development Service Limited has set up its own mask factory. Shortly after half a month of the factory’s opening, the first batch of products was successfully launched. HKFTU has received numerous donations throughout the year to support the manufacture, and has repeatedly given out masks to the workers and citizens in need.
Moreover, HKFTU has provided full support to Hong Kong residents stranded in Hubei. It requested that the HKSAR government transfer the people by transportation such as high-speed rail trains or charter flight, as well as offering essential supplies for those stranded HK residents.
In September, the HKFTU Hong Ling Society for the Well-being of the Elderly organized a charity food community support programme. A total of 10,000 "caring food packs" were distributed to the elderly and unemployed workers, with telephone visits and home visits by voluntary workers as assistance.
